Random Question

So, random thing, based on a mood I keep having: How many people here are more into the less ero* side of things? Or not as into the BDSM aspects with it? I’m curious, mainly because it fits me pretty well and I like to think I’m not the only one out there with that view.

*I’m horrible at defining it, but let’s say it means that while hypno is a bit ero for you, you prefer the more funny/not as ero side of things.

This is a topic of much debate – @tennfan2, @soundshypnotic, and I occasionally “teach a class” themed around it. (I use “teach a class” because really it’s more like “put on a show”.)

And my role in said class is (as in real life) the guy whose heart is just about always in the hypnosis-for-hypnosis’-sake camp.

To be clear, it’s still very hot to me; hypnosis (depending on the context) is both a nerdy hobby and a kink, but adding the BDSM (for me) doesn’t necessarily amp up the hotness.

I mean, to me, hypnosis is almost always erotic on some level? there are a few *people* who are exceptions, but that’s mostly because of the nature of my friendship with those people…

As most of my EH pals know, and as I’ve talked with @jonsmisu about in private in the past, this is a HUGE topic for me–not so much on trying to parse the varying types of personal erotic interest, but in how our EH community makes itself fun and welcoming to all types, not just BDSM folks,

I’m personally not a “hypnosis for hypnosis’ sake” guy–I’m much more into using hypnosis as a tool to get at other mind-control or transformation erotic fantasies. That said, I do dabble in BDSM when it’s hot for a partner (which makes it hot for me!), and I absolutely know that most of my fetishes center around a power exchange of some sort and often a certain type of mental sadism. (Yes, all sadism is probably mental on some level – everything we do is mental on some level – I just mean my sadism tends to lean more toward doing nasty, mean, cruel things to someone’s mind and will, rather than physically to their body.)

So I’m definitely into hypnotism for the Ero part of Erotic Hypnotism.

However, I’ve often warned that our growing EH community needs to keep reminding itself that not everyone is into BDSM; not everyone has a D/s relationship with their partners; not everyone wants collars or to use terms like “pet,” “slave,” “Mistress/Master,” “Sir/Miss;” not everyone is into rope or floggers or canes. And while I put myself firmly on the Erotic side of things, I also have to remember that there are folks whose idea and definition of “erotic” is very different from mine—just as there may be folks who are into erotic hypnosis who have ZERO interest in a power exchange or control of another.

We have a very lovely, welcoming, friendly community, but as I’ve written at length before, the BDSM side of things still tends to dominate the community (no pun intended) for several reasons, including the fact that many EH groups and events are created in conjunction with an existing BDSM kink community or local dungeon, so not only do information about and invites to events disseminate through that BDSM community first and foremost, but also people already comfortable with being in a kink group and attending in-person events tend to be more likely to hear about and come out to attend an Erotic Hypnosis event.

In the past year, I’ve met so many more EH people like myself, or Smisu, or others here who are NOT necessarily into the formal BDSM side of things, and that’s been very encouraging and wonderful. And at the same time, I’ve done some of exploring myself of types of play that involve more elements of BDSM, with mixed but always fascinating results.

I hate having to repeat this over and over, but someone ALWAYS misses the point: I am NOT saying BDSM is bad or that it shouldn’t be part of the EH community. I am NOT suggesting we further sub-divide and Balkanize our EH community. I love my BDSM-lovin’ friends and play partners, I love talking to them, learning from them, and playing with them. I have NOTHING against BDSM and have always appreciated my own explorations of it. What I am repeatedly saying is that our larger community needs to be aware that not everyone is into BDSM and should keep our events and discussions as open and friendly as possible for folks curious about or into erotic hypnosis from different, non-BDSM angles.

But still, especially here on Tumblr, depending on how you curate your feed, you can find your daily dashboard filled with an overwhelming amount of BDSM images and discussions—much of it from your close friends in the EH community. And there are times when that feels overwhelming and alienating—it can make you feel like an outsider in the very EH community you were hoping to finally find fellowship in. You discover the EH community and think, “Oh yes, finally! My people!” and then you look around and go, “Oh wait… hmmm… Are you my people? Am I your person? Do I really belong here?”

The short, easy answer is always YES, of course you belong here—when you tune out all the BDSM imagery on Tumblr, we’re still left with a growing and varied community of great folks who welcome everyone, whatever they’re into to whatever degree. The issue isn’t how nice and welcoming and diverse the EH community is, it’s just how some of us sometimes perceive it, based on some of its most overt BDSM imagery and topics.

We meet cool, fun, awesome new friends, and then sometimes there’s that feeling of, “Oh, but they’re into so many things I’m not.” That can sometimes leave you feeling lonely and left out again. When you’re trying to find play partners to do the hypno things you want to do, but it seems like everyone is into all kinds of things you’re not, and you despair of ever finding a play partner who’s into YOUR thing or your particular level and definition of eroticism.

Jon Smisu, I’m sure your idea of and interest in “erotic hypnosis” is different from mine, and I know mine is different from @tennfan2’s or @daja-the-hypnokitten’s or @enscenic’s. Heck, I know my fetishes don’t even line up exactly with the play partners I do lots of fun things with—almost all of them have other kinks or fetish interests that fall outside my usual realm of play. Some of those things I explore with them, some of them I shrug and leave be.

All of which is to say, hang in there – keep exploring and defining your hypnosis interests for yourself; maybe try some new things, if only to figure out what you’re not into; but most of all, just know that you are far, far from alone in all this. Maybe all our kinks and fetishes and definitions of “erotic” don’t always match, but many of us have felt exactly that mood you’re describing. And meanwhile, our community needs to keep reminding ourselves of that—that not everyone seeking shelter under the umbrella of “erotic hypnosis” is looking for or excited by the same things.

(This post is somewhere between “direct reply” and “using previous posts as jumping-off points”.)

Yeah, my relationship with erotic hypnosis is…complicated, and full of approximations: “this isn’t quite right, but it’ll have to do”.

jonsmisu: you prefer the more funny/not as ero side of things.

Well, I definitely wouldn’t say I prefer the “funny” side of things, because that seems to generally mean embarrassment humour, and I hate embarrassment humour.

sebsteerpike: And while I put myself firmly on the Erotic side of things, I also have to remember that there are folks whose idea and definition of “erotic” is very different from mine

I think of my fetish as sexual, but I often have more in common with people calling themselves “nonsexual kinksters”. I could easily see someone with the same sexuality as me but a different outlook on it using the term “nonsexual kinkster” too.

just as there may be folks who are into erotic hypnosis who have ZERO interest in a power exchange or control of another.

Yeah, the thing where BDSM is treated as the be-all-end-all of kink tripped me up in my late teens. I called myself submissive for a while because I didn’t really know you could be a kinky bottom without being submissive.

(And…this isn’t quite the same thing as conflation with BDSM, but the assumption that a person will be into a wide variety of things is also tricky. Here I am with just the one paraphilia: a few different aspects, but in essence one thing. Being kinky doesn’t make me ~adventurous~. Hell, I’m not even into genitals.)

You discover the EH community and think, “Oh yes, finally! My people!” and then you look around and go, “Oh wait… hmmm… Are you my people? Am I your person? Do I really belong here?”

The short, easy answer is always YES, of course you belong here

I’m not convinced that I do, but I do think there’s something to be gained by hanging out with people who are only almost My People. It’s good for its own sake, and it’s additionally good because places like this are my best chance at running into someone who is My People.

but it seems like everyone is into all kinds of things you’re not, and you despair of ever finding a play partner who’s into YOUR thing or your particular level and definition of eroticism.

Yep. Not even anyone to play with, necessarily, just somebody to talk to.

(I’ve been feeling lonely this week, because on Tuesday it was time for a round of “Am I Ovulating, Or Just Sleep-Deprived?*”. And I knew that if I complained about it on Tumblr, I might get a few people commiserating as best they could, but there would be nobody to nod and say “I know that feel”, because none of them did know that feel.)

*I suspect the answer was “sleep-deprived”, because the next day I slept better but felt worse. Ovulatory libido spikes don’t have a ramping-up period like that (at least for me), so I think I was sleep-deprived on Tuesday but ovulating on Wednesday.

The United States is about to elect a new president. I’ve previously polled UK Grindr users on Scottish independence, the 2015 general election, and Brexit. This time, I decided to poll US Grindr users on who they think should be leading their country.

For every state, I aimed for a number of responses equivalent to each state’s number of presidential electors – from 55 for California to 3 for Delaware, Vermont, Alaska etc. A few fell a little short as I was banned (my 10th Grindr ban to date) just before I could finish, though most matched or exceeded the target. The number next to each state is the number of responses I received, though the percentages are only taken from the responses that can reasonably be interpreted as a decisive answer – undecided voters, non-voters, and evasive responses are listed separately. Major candidates who received 0 votes are also listed.

Not counted towards the percentage are the following responses:

19                Undecided
60                None of the above
9                  Not eligible to vote
181              Evasive or unclear responses

55                Miscellaneous evasion
41                Explicitly declined to answer, “none of your business” etc
25                Irrelevant or incomprehensible
18               Too horny to engage politically

12               “Anyone but…” (10 Trump, 2 Clinton, 1 Johnson, 1 Stein)
7                 Overt hostility
3                 Nudes

Here are the number of states candidates win when only Grindr votes.

Hillary Clinton: 42 (6 as part of a tie)
Donald Trump: 13 (7 as part of a tie)
Bernie Sanders: 3 (3 as part of a tie)
Jill Stein: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
Evan McMullin: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
Deez Nuts: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
Beyoncé: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
Ronald Reagan: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
″A giant meteor”: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
″My big fat cock”: 1 (1 as part of a tie)
Gary Johnson: 0

In the electoral college, this should translate into the following numbers of electoral votes. When dealing with ties, electors are divided evenly between candidates.

Hillary Clinton: 472.167
Donald Trump: 46.667
Bernie Sanders: 4.5
Beyoncé: 3.5
Jill Stein: 2.667
Evan McMullin: 2
Ronald Reagan: 2
“A giant meteor”: 2
“My big fat cock”: 1.5
Deez Nuts: 1

Finally, here is the electoral map, according to Grindr.

Grindr 2016 Election 33

Hillary Clinton comfortably clears her target of 270 electoral votes, and the Democrats are re-elected. Grindr is, for once, with her.

Concept: Great Old Ones arranged from most to least fuckable.

OKAY PEOPLE, SIT DOWN, BECAUSE I MADE A LIST. I even made a list with REASONS. Fuck yeah I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about the fuckability of the Mythos deities for a long time.

Pretty sure these aren’t all Great Old Ones but I don’t care.

Azathoth – The Seething Nuclear Chaos, the Blind Idiot God, being faced with him would destroy your mind and he wouldn’t notice you anyway. Probably one of the least fuckable. You kinda want your partner to at least be aware that you’re there. And not make you lose it.

Nyarlathotep – Dude. Dude. Have you seen the number of FORMS this guy can take? And how much special attention he pays a human when he chooses that human to take interest in?  I imagine he has something for everybody, he’d be fully focused on you, it could blow your mind. GO FOR IT.

Shub-Niggurath – The All-Mother, the Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young, the lady who is often portrayed as either a shifting mass of genitals or VERY satyr-like? Her cult is lucky as hell and you’d be lucky to be part of it. There’s no way she doesn’t top this list.

Yog-Sothoth – Canonically had sex with and twin children by a human woman without her dying or going mad as a result, so this seems like a pretty safe bet. Might not be your most interesting option personality-wise, but I bet that form is hot as fuck if you’re at all xeno, which. If you’re not, why are you even interested in a list of Most Fuckable Great Old Ones? Get outta here.

Hastur – I have no solid reason for wanting to say that Hastur is eminantly fuckable, but good lord I imagine they must be. I want to say this would be an intense and fun experience. Maybe because they come across as a muse to me, associated with writers and actors as they are.

Hydra and/or Dagon – Mother and Father of the Deep Ones, the Deep Ones being fish people who totally do get married to, fuck, and have children with humans, so your odds are good. They’re also apparently super huge so if you’re into size kink along with your xeno then that’ll be fun for you. If you did have kids via either of them they’d be great parents, too, which is always a plus.

Cthulhu – Dead Cthulhu Lies Dreaming deep under the ocean, and when he wakes up he’s gonna go on that huge rampage of his, so, eh. Of course, eventually when things settle down he and his peeps will be teaching and mentoring humanity in its ascension to becoming Something Else, so after that whole scenario there’s some kinky mentor potential, but that’d depend on his awakening happening in your lifetime and you surviving it, so.

Atlach-Natcha – I mean, on the one hand, giant spider with a human face. Doesn’t seem incredibly fuckable by that description, even for xeno furries like myself. On the other hand, she spins the web that connects the waking world to the Dreamlands, so if she wanted I bet you could have some crazy sex dreams. That sounds amazing so I’m gonna say it counts and you should go for it.

Tsathoggua – Huge bat-toad, which honestly just makes him sound super cute. May or may not eat sacrifices, but hey. I like those odds. [finger-guns] He’s also super into self-indulgence and is very intelligent, though lazy. If he wanted to I bet the sex could be great, given that he’d want to indulge himself and encourage you indulging yourself.

Mordiggian – The Charnal God, the Great Ghoul, so like, his form is either a giant mass of darkness straight-up or probably something skeletal or ghoulish. He’s probably not going to be interested in fucking anybody, is what I’m saying here. Even if he went along with it, how would that work without being kinda gross? Necrophilia is where I draw a line, sorry. Fucking this one is unlikely.

Yig – I mean, “a serpent man, serpent with bat-like wings, or… a giant snake” sounds pretty damn hot to me (told you I was a xeno furry). And he’s apparently as easily pleased as he is easy to anger, and as long as you don’t kill any snakes you should be just fine, that seems to be his one rage button.

Daoloth – I mean he’s basically a complex, indescribable shape/mass of metal that transports you to a bizzare and alien world if he touches you, is constantly growing if not held within containment (while in this universe) so could accidentally just… kill everything, and if you actually look at him (ie if things aren’t in pitch black) you lose your mind. While the darkness part makes me want to find SOME way to say this would be kinky, I just don’t think there’s any way it could work. Sorry, you can’t fuck geometry this time.

Cthugha – He’s a giant ball of fire. Even if you like temperature play, fire during sex, things like that, I’m just not sure how this one would work. It would have to involve masturbation with Cthugha nearby, or you having sex with someone else while he voyeurs, or something. Not super fuckable himself.

Y’Golonac – With a name like “the Defiler” you know this one’s gonna be good. Y’Golonac is “the god of perversion and depravity,” a sadist, he encourages “depravity” in humans, and he has a mouth in each palm and is at least sometimes portrayed as having a mouth at his crotch as well. I’m betting he’s a fuckin’ AMAZING Dom, is what I’m saying.

Gla’aki – On the one hand, all his worshippers are undead, because if you touch one of his spines you die and turn undead and join his hivemind. Also he’s a giant slug covered in spines. So I’m not sure how that’d work, but on the OTHER hand, he’s apparently intensely smart, so he might be able to think of some way to make it work himself, and some people find hivemind stuff kinky, so if being a zombie doesn’t bother you, idk. I don’t know your life.

Abhoth – Don’t. You’ll get an infection.

Ithaqua – Another giant, so great for size kink, and if you join his cult you won’t be affected by the cold, so the arctic wastes will become a great potential for mild temperature play, so there’s that. Again he may or may not eat people, but on the other hand, he’s apparently tried to reproduce a lot because he’s incredibly lonely, and there’s, like, some bullshit romance novel potential right there. But if you want to stay on Earth, I wouldn’t.

Yegg Ha – If you find Nightgaunts sexy, this is the god for you! And who doesn’t find the faceless, totally silent, super strong, winged nightgaunts sexy? I’m betting this one’s super into tickle play, though, so if that does nothing for you, maybe refrain.

Tru’nembra – Living noise. It’s also possible he’s not really aware of what decible level humans can handle, given that he’s described “with soundwaves louder then ever recorded blasting off of the shimmering mass of air he would manifest in.” Even if he was quieter, though, not sure how sex would actually work. Maybe he could be your mood music/horrible background porn soundtrack, but like with Cthugha, sex with him wouldn’t actually be a thing.

Yidhra – A “beautiful, awesome, and terrible earth-mother” who is regularly being reborn, the fact that she’s another lady (lady deities are RARE in the Mythos wow) made me want to add her, and when I saw that she’s fuckin’ telepathic and an an illusionist I knew I had made a good choice. Can you imagine all the ways someone could use telepathy and illusions during sex? The only downside is that she doesn’t seem very xeno. Maybe more like fucking a classical goddess or someone with superpowers. Still, fuckin’ awesome.

SO MY FINAL LIST, IN ORDER FROM MOST TO LEAST FUCKABLE:

1. Shub-Niggurath
2. Nyarlathotep
3. Y’Golonac
4. Hastur
5. Hydra and/or Dagon
6. Atlach-Natcha
7. Yog-Sothoth
8. Tsathoggua
9. Yidhra
10. Yig
11. Yegg Ha
12. Cthulhu
13. Ithaqua
14. Mordiggian
15. Gla’aki
16. Cthugha
17. Tru’nembra
18. Azathoth
19. Daoloth
20. Abhoth

HELL YEAH.

You know that moment when you see a notification on your dashboard, informing you that the reblog of your dreams has finally happened?

I disagree with some of the final list here, but I’m so glad someone finally engaged with me on this in a well-reasoned and considerate way.

So, I think I might actually start a secondary blog about some of the things that have been getting discussed this weekend.  I think it’s a topic worth being openly talked about, and I think it would be good to have a space specifically for that, so that people can stop worrying if what they’re talking about is appropriate and just say what they have to say.

(I also think it would be good to get the conversation off my main blog, because while I find it interesting, I’m sure it’s making a number of my followers uncomfortable.)

A couple of thoughts:

  • For aces, by aces, about aces.
  • Topics would definitely include masturbation/sex toys, including reviews/how-tos.
  • Additional topics can potentially include BDSM gear, partnered activities, talking about porn/erotic materials, and general sexual health/sex ed/anatomy, etc.  Basically anything ace people are curious about or want to discuss, but don’t feel comfortable doing it in regular ace circles.  Any other topics that should be explicitly called out?
  • Matter of fact and open, with a sense of “Yes, this is normal, yes, it’s okay to feel like that, it’s okay to do this” in most answers.  Non-judgmental and inclusive (at least inclusive of ace-ID’d people).
  • Clinical where it needs to be, fun where it needs to be.
  • Deliberately not wankfodder.  This isn’t Letters to Penthouse.
  • Open to questions from non-ace people about ace people, within limits.  This will attempt to be a safe space for aces (at least as much as it can be on this site), so anyone disrespectful, etc., will be shown the door.
  • Anon submissions/asks would be on.  18+
  • Toy pictures allowed (including anatomically accurate models), but images of toy usage/porn not allowed (including pornographic images on packaging).  Maybe use another toy as a demonstration stand in?
  • Maybe a discussion prompt once in a while?
  • I would probably need co-moderators.  Any volunteers?

A couple of concerns:

  • As I’ve learned from my “An Asexual’s Guide To …” series, any time someone talks about topics like this, you will get a lot of non-ace people wandering by and offering their, um, “thoughts”.
  • I’d like it to be findable by aces who are interested in it, but I don’t want to be intrusive to those who are not.  Are there good ways to do this?

So there it is.  Thoughts?

I’d probably read it. I might participate, depending on which topics and how far the inclusivity goes. (When it comes to conversations about sex, I always feel like I’m being Too Weird and making people uncomfortable, even in places with relatively high Weird levels. The only place I didn’t feel like I was being intrusive was Ace Fet, which vanished off the face of the Internet a couple years ago without a trace.)

I think some sort of “Safe, Legal, Respectful” principle might be a good guideline as to what’s allowed.  (Although, strictly speaking, “Legal” would probably be a bit flexible, as there are some places that outlaw the sale of “any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs”, for instance.  Not to mention the countries that still have enforceable sodomy laws.  Things like that.)  And maybe a “Don’t yuck my yum” principle.  (The big problem is that you can’t control the audience response on Tumblr.  You can encourage and cultivate the first readers to be respectful, but after that, the “Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory” applies.  And I don’t know how to fix that.)

I think, in general, that this place would have to work against the idea that something is “weird” or “icky” or whatever.  I mean, for many people, masturbation itself is too icky to talk about.  Many people think sex toys are weird.  And that’s okay.  What’s not okay is turning that “This is not for me” into “No, you can’t have it either”.  If it’s not your thing, skip to the next post.  If none of the posts are your thing, unfollow or even block.

I think it would be good to have some of those “Too Weird” things talked about in a place that’s a safe environment, presented in a way that says “This is out there.  If you’re interested, great.  If not, maybe the next topic will be more your style.”  Sort of like a sexualized asexual 60 Minutes.  (If that makes any sense.)

@katakacat replied to this thread with:

“good idea, but what part about this is 18+??? if there’s going to be a large piece of sexual health and sex ed happening, i think it would be most effective if it’s safe for minors, the people who would be most in need of sex ed? i think? i’m not sure what you meant by 18+ but that sounds like the worst idea, the rest sounds pretty great”

Okay, so I was angry about this at first, but upon reflection I think it simply demonstrates a rift in people’s understanding of what this project is supposed to do.

See, sex ed is broad. It deals in generalities: it can, say, tell you that pornography is a thing that exists, but it won’t recommend specific pieces of erotica. (And indeed, any sex ed trying to be available to minors wouldn’t dare make such recommendations.)

I know many people who advocate for “inclusive” sex ed, but there is no such thing. Don’t get me wrong, some sex ed is less exclusive than others, but every sex education resource has to draw the line somewhere. They might discuss only the most common form of sexuality, or the top two, or the top several, but people with rare manifestations of sexuality will always be sacrificed on the altar of the greatest good for the greatest number.

I can’t contribute to a sex ed blog. When it comes to sex education, I am not and never will be a participant: I’m collateral damage. And maybe that’s worth it, but that is the price you’d be paying if you go the sex ed route.

I, on the other hand, interpreted this idea as being about a space for asexuals to discuss their sexualities. (I was going to say “the presences, rather than the absences”, but apparently some people conceive of their asexuality as a presence?) Such a space is not inherently exclusive of me. The risk is high, as I mentioned in my previous post on this reblog chain, but it could have a place for me.

@katakacat, tagging you to make sure you get the whole post. I didn’t want to add this as an edit because then people who have already read the original might miss it.

I swear I’m going back to studying after this, but it occurred to me I didn’t make it all that clear why the non-18+ thing in particular bothered me.

IME, obscenity rules are enforced more strictly the weirder you are. Something can be considered fine when a vanilla person says it, but someone saying the analogous thing about a kink gets smacked down as inappropriate.

At my level of out-there, there is very little I would dare say in an environment trying to be safe for minors. Almost any statement, no matter how innocuous the normal-person analogue would be, risks censure and penalties.

I was wondering today, how come I’ve never seen mind-control fetishists talking about BBC Merlin? And only seen one piece of erotic fanfiction set in that universe?

That show had such ridiculous quantities of mind control. When it wasn’t plain mind-control magic, it was zombification (in both the “resurrection” and “enthrallment” senses simultaneously, though–at least in the case I’m thinking of–not in the “non-sapient” sense). Or love spells. Or possession. Or mind-altering parasites. Or getting their wills broken the mundane way, with torture.

One time, in series 4 IIRC, there was a five-episode streak in which somebody got mind-controlled in every episode. Not a five-episode arc involving mind control: five individual plots. It was almost half the season.

(I started laughing at episode 4 of the streak, when they said the Lamia could control men’s minds. Mom asked what was funny, and I had to take a moment to try to see it from the outside, how suspicious it would seem that I was the first one to notice despite not really paying that much attention. *I* knew it was because my salience mechanisms were attuned differently than hers, but would she be able to work that out? I don’t want my mom knowing my kinks.

After a moment, I decided I could pass it off as coincidence that I just happened to be paying attention at the right times, and told her about the streak. When the “next time on” showed the abovementioned zombification, she was laughing too.)

Was I just in the wrong places at the wrong times? Is that why I never saw anyone discussing this?

Chuck Tingle is heading down a track. You see on the path ahead of him, five of his butt, all ready to pound him in the butt. You can save him from this fate by throwing the switch to the second track, but down that path you see the copy of his new manuscript, “Pounded in the Butt by the Manuscript Containing the Trolley Problem in Which I May or May Not Be Pounded in the Butt by Five of My Own Butt”. This manuscript will likely pound him in the butt. Do you flip the switch?

The fact that I understood every word of this post disturbs and enrages me.

That’s it guys, go home.  We have a Chuck Tingle trolley problem.  This just can’t be beat (maybe pounded though.  In the butt.)

Yea

load up the playlist and spend the days writing and…praying

Let’s see…. 6 months of quiet and beautiful scenery to earn more money than anyone in the history of my family has ever seen?

Gee…

is food delivered? do I have access to my meds? can I bring friends? is there cell phone service in emergencies (eg I fall off a scenic cliff)? are there any social opportunities in meatspace or am I just in solitary for six months? what sort of library does the house have? can I leave to go shopping, or do I have to order shit like shampoo and craft supplies delivered too? are my living expenses coming out of the million dollars, who’s paying for them?

*always gets tied up in the logistics of that sort of thing* (also people go literally crazy without human contact for extended periods)

Everything JT said (except I’m not on meds). Additionally, you said no internet and TV. Does that mean I can have a computer as long as it has no internet access? If so, how much preparation time do I have to stock this computer with entertainment supplies? (Can I use external hard drives for more space?) Does non-streaming video count as TV? If videos still count as TV even when locally stored, is that all videos, or just videos that have also aired on television networks? (I’m pretty okay with no video at all for six months, but I’m asking anyway on principle.)

And JT, why limit cell phone service to emergencies? Limit data service to emergencies, sure, but technically nobody said anything about not being able to call people. (I’m less sure about texting, since as we learned recently texting is, for most practical purposes, the same thing as email.)

Also, 1 million what?
