That final gif….O.o….It’s okay I didn’t feel like sleeping tonight anyway…

keepcalmandshipeveryone:

No joke… I didn’t even notice the thing that was so creepy in the final gif for what felt like half an hour and then got the biggest fright of my life… What is this gif-making devilry?

theinsultingdetective:

omfg i didn’t reblog this earlier but I didn’t see that HOLY

HOLY  REGBINRGRNI  THE LAST GIF

loveallthesherlocks:

AHHHH I SWEAR TO GOD I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS UNTIL THE FIFTH TIME I SAW IT ON MY DASH

sherlockian-spockian:

Okay everyone: It may seem as though this is harmless and nothing. But if you REALLY want to know… Look very hard at the 5th gif. Prepare for a sleepless and terrified night.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!

lilith-the-ancient:

Jeezus shit!

ihavebeensherlocked:

I MAY HAVE JUST SCREAMED AND JUMPED AT MY DESK

isitmadness:

I was all ‘Is he looking at Lestrade’s facebook or something haha’ then I was ‘HOLY MOTHERFRICKING OH MY GOD’

allhail-lordmemerson:

I looked very closely at the last one…like literally put the laptop up to my face…

Then I saw it.

I didn’t think people actually gasped. Then I saw that.

I held in my breath for a good few minutes before I let it out and started screaming.

Am I missing something? Because everyone’s talking like the thing they’re frightened of wasn’t immediately obvious, which the Silent behind John is. Or am I just in the minority thinking that’s obvious? (It was the first thing I noticed in the last GIF, even before John.)

http://www.rockethub.com/projects/5619-the-stress-response-in-baby-kestrels

My RocketHub research fundraiser is winding down and ends on May 5th, so I’m unveiling a TUMBLR SPECIAL for all of you who showed interest in my project but are on a tight budget (which, as a master’s student, I totally understand…)

For those of you who didn’t run across my last post, I am researching the effects of stress on the development of birds (specifically American kestrels) and need money for my analysis kits.  And since RocketHub is a crowd-sourcing site, you receive unique gifts in exchange for donations.

So what is the TUMBLR SPECIAL and why do I keep typing it in all caps?  Well, the TUMBLR SPECIAL is a limited offer (limited because my fundraiser ends in 17 days) where donating just $10 lets you ADOPT A BABY KESTREL!  Like the ones in the pictures up above!

Adopting a baby kestrel means that in a few weeks, when the kestrels hatch and grow up, I will send you pictures, video, and stats on your baby bird, as well as its band number so you can check on its progress in the future.  And you get to name it!  Awesome!

So if you are interested in birds, science, conservation, or cute baby animals, check out my project here:

Oh what adorable babies! And such pretty feathers.

for people who still play “the game”

2009 is that way

Actually, time isn’t one of the Euclidean dimensions of space and as such doesn’t behave the same way with dimensions that can be measured in a certain direction. Saying it’s to the left is factually incorrect.

Case in point, I just lost the game.

2009 can be to the left in the same way a song can be blue.

(I saw the “You just won The Game! Congratulations, you’re free!” xkcd strip before knowing what The Game was. It was very confusing, but also meant that when I did learn about it I never took it to heart. Randall Munroe himself gave me a pass. So there. *sticks out tongue*)
