at this point you should just make your own computerized sex toys with an arduino, some gumption, and silicon molds of various bodily appendages

Fortunately, Arduino’s pretty easy to pick up, even if you don’t know how to code. There’s a lot of learn to code kits with Arduino, and a massive DIY community with lots of forums.

If you feel more comfortable with a pc-like interface with a lot of capabilities, a raspberry pi (version 3 B+ works just fine for most purposes).

https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/raspberry-pi-getting-started

If you’re itching for something cheap and small that can connect to the internet (say, for lots of little wirelessly controlled toys talking to a local device your private internet), there are wifi enabled Arduino boards like the WeMos D1 Mini and Adafruit Featherwing HUZZAH ESP32 boards. The esp32 is a little computer chip that does wifi, so as long as it’s on board or can be added on, you’ve got wireless connectivity. There’s lots of sample sketches for communicating with local devices.

Seems like most of these projects require motors, so here’s an introduction to the electronics

Here’s another lil tutorial on motors

Oh! Also here’s something super important. Electronics safety!

There’s a lot of potential for Arduino and raspberry pis in this category. You can make tasers, locks, pistons, pumps, eye trackers, muscle sensors, screens, twitter api based controls, local wired and wireless controls, screens, and maybe more. Actually, if you search for DIY Arduino electronic sex toy stuff, you can find a lot of interesting boards and existing projects to copy.

I know that one of the relatively easy to make projects is a buttplug that measures orgasm intensity but I believe it uses a 3D printed casing and this is your reminder that 3D printed materials are nearly impossible to properly sanitize so mold a hollow core plug out of silicone or make sure to use a condom (which, because of the composition and texture of 3d print plastic you’d probably want to do anyway).

So it turns out that “dastard” is not, in fact, a minced version of “bastard” (it’s instead derived from an unrelated Middle English word meaning “stupid” or “cowardly”), but it sounds like it should be, and I maintain that every single instance of the word “dastardly” becomes much funnier if replaced with “bastardly”.

#…apparently this post was *not* made in October #it was posted in June and that date implies it was written in April #which means that truck of emotional resonance that hits you at #“it is october‚ and i wait for the symptoms of spring/it is april‚ but only when i close my eyes” #is not *intended* to be there #or at least *that* particular truck isn’t #but fuck it they sing it back to you for 85000 reasons (via @brin-bellway)

yeah so possibly this unintentionally contains a timeloop thing. you’re right that it was written in april but it also grew out of various sentences from my diary-ish notebooks. the line about october/april was written in october 2019 and was vaguely about seasonal depression / winter Sucks and april is when you can See trees starting to grow leaves again. then when i was putting the poem together in april obviously that resonated in…… a very different way. so i was like yeah ok sure. and now it’s october again and it has a whole new but not unrelated meaning!! poetry timeloop

#so yeah intent doesn’t really…… matter and usually i don’y reblog things onto this blog

#but this time it’s kinda interesting bcs i Did actually intend it Kind Of this way but then also the intent got Out Of Control!!!

I wrote a post [link] about time standing still during the plague, so it makes sense that that was the first meaning that hit me. I can see *multiple* COVID-related interpretations, though: one could also interpret it, not as waiting for the spring of 2020 that never came, but as waiting for the metaphorical blooming of a post-plague world (which *could* potentially happen during a literal springtime too).

The second interpretation that occurred to me was a Northerner moving to the Southern Hemisphere, the experience of the local Octobers carrying what they still think of as a certain essential April-ness.

Also I just took the exam for my penultimate semester and late next month I start my final semester, so…obviously it depends on how much 2020 Bullshit I have to deal with in the next few months, there could well be delays, but the single most likely month for “what month am I going to officially receive my diploma” is April 2021. Next spring will likely be a metaphorical spring for me personally, the blooming of the next stage of my life, entering my career.

Plus there’s that seasonal-depression interpretation, which I did not think of on my own but yeah I can see that.

Layers!!

“Fear not, for neither man nor woman, neither–”

“Okay, let me stop you right there. Nobody ever lists the things that aren’t going to kill you unless they’re trying to hide a loophole.”

“I’m not sure I understand.“

“Bullshit. You’ve totally foreseen what’s going to kill me.“

“… not necessarily.”

“You haven’t necessarily seen what’s going to kill me, or what you’ve seen isn’t necessarily going to kill me?“

“You know, you are just sucking all the fun out of this.“

“Truly, I weep for you.“

“Okay, fine. A duck. You die because of a duck. Happy?“

“You’re serious.”

“I literally can’t lie. Why do you think I do the ‘neither man nor woman’ routine in the first place?”

“Well, of all the undignified– wait. Noun or verb?“

“Oh, you’re good.”
