Holy shit. I remember that one. The witches are portrayed by 3 garbagemen and instead of saying “when Birnham Wood to Dunsinane comes”, they say he’ll be defeated “when pigs fly”. This is fulfilled when a police helicopter lands on the roof.

My favourite thing about this post is folks in the notes going “no, that’s wrong, it was Richard Armitage as Macduff, not Christopher Walken”, then slowly coming to the horrified realisation that there’s actually more than one early 2000s Shakespeare adaptation with this basic premise.

(The one with Walken is 2001′s Scotland, PA, while the one with Armitage is episode two of 2005′s ShakespeaRe-Told, for the curious.)

The squirrels, unfortunately, are dumb as all shit and will absolutely eat a rock on the off chance it might be a strawberry.  the same rock.  three times a week. and never complain about thier geological misfortune to other squirrels so THOSE squirrels come over and eat rocks too. 

So the Berry Zone will require psychological warfare, physical fortifications and regular dog patrols if I’m going to be able to forage fruits like a marmoset as my heart desires.

Come on, give them some credit. Their level of intelligence is irrelevant. Squirrels are made for gnawing through hard things, they’re not gonna be scared of some rock just because it might be an actual rock.

God shit like this makes me absolutely rabid for modernity. It used to take year-round work, eight hours a day, to keep even a smallish household in two suits of decent clothes. Fuck nostalgia for the distant past. Fuck nostalgia for, like, three decades ago. Technology is awesome, and industrialization rules.
