you know words like “-core” and “-gate”? in both cases the second half of a compound word is reanalyzed as a productive suffix, for aesthetics and scandals respectively. is there a word for this?
nvm i found it, it’s called a libfix! other examples are -burger, -cation, -ageddon, -holic, and -athon
