Smithsonian Nat’l Zoo Gov Doc: Walter, the Screaming Hairy Armadillo

Walter is the newest armadillo at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. He 3-years-old and came from the Cincinnati Zoo. Walter is the Zoo’s only screaming hairy armadillo, named for the loud piercing noise they emit to warn off predators

I did not know there was a screaming hairy armadillo and my life has just measurably improved.

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge lies in northern Utah, where the Bear River flows into the northeast arm of the Great Salt Lake. The Refuge protects the marshes found at the mouth of the Bear River, providing a critical habitat for migrating birds.
