The moon converts that thing into light and it is bright enough to mostly function as a sun for daylight purposes. But it’s still a moon, with a lunar cycle, and so how much light there is varies over the month, making the new moon a time of extended darkness and the full moon _too_ bright

magical artefacts can function as mini-moons and also turn sunstuff into light, but of course they only work during sun-day.

The official Times Square livestream crashed at 11:59:50, presumably overwhelmed by all the viewers.

The version of Auld Lang Syne Mom picked out was screechy and failed to have a Scottish accent.

That one Scottish guy came through, as he has every year.

I try not to read prophetic symbolism into things, but this reads as “some rough patches (mostly poverty-related), but things will work out okay in the end”. I suppose that’s not so bad.

Okay, so it turns the problem with my activity feed that I’ve been complaining about for the past 3 days (the flood of unwanted reply notifications I’ve been getting from other ppl’s viral posts) is indeed a new “feature,” and not a glitch.

Apparently, tumblr thinks that turning our activity pages into an endless YouTube comment section will “encourage more conversations” and “increase engagement” (see: TechCrunch article).

Y’all been warned. 

I got to be an early adopter of this bullshit. 

Not all blogs have yet been “gifted” with this “””feature””” but I don’t doubt that soon your blogs will also be affected. 

You won’t be able to leave a reply, or reblog comment on any viral post without having your activity page flooded with every single subsequent reply that post receives.
