idk i think if people were dying for the second time that might imply some good news

If my dad dies of this, it will be his second death. He died the first time of a heart attack in 1994. Heart attacks are among the easier kinds of death to undo: even with our all-too-limited medical tech, we can sometimes manage it. In his case, they could.

Being 18-25 is like playing a video game where you’ve skipped the tutorial and you’re just sort of running about with no idea how anything works

Being 25-30 is like later on in the game when you’ve figured out how things work, but have made poor leveling decisions along the way and are now horribly underpowered for what you’re supposed to be doing.

Being 30-35 is coming to the conclusion that if wildly swinging a sword at random while screaming has gotten you this far, may as well keep at it.

mathamaniac asked: I read ‘CORDYCEPS: too clever for their own good’ like 6 months ago and i can’t get it out of my head. its just now clicked for me that YOU are (probably) the same benedict that wrote it (unless that’s what you want me to think)

glumshoe:

A new Star Trek series but 90% of the dramatic tension comes from each of the characters believing themselves to be the Outsider archetype.

If YOU’RE the new Spock, and I’M the new Data, and HE’s the new Seven of Nine, and SHE’S the new Odo, and THEY’RE also the new Spock…. then who’s piloting the ship?!

protectspock:

Sometimes a family can be five autistic-coded characters flying a starship through space.

Kermit Nod

alarajrogers:

A Vulcan, an android, an ex-Borg, a Founder, and an autistic human? I’m on board for that.

Seriously, I’m on board. I’ll make a self insert just for this show. :-)

glumshoe:

And then when the bog standard Relatable Everyman character joins the cast he realizes that HE is now the awkward Outside archetype who makes humorous social miscalculations.

alarajrogers:

I think I’ve actually seen fanfics about the lone Human aboard a Vulcan science vessel and the humorous social miscalculations that resulted, but it’d be kind of awesome to see multiple autistic-coded species interacting with each other and then the token Normal Human. (And I think it’s very important that one of the autistic-coded people actually be an autistic human; let’s not accidentally suggest that only non-humans could possibly act autistic.)

I know I’ve been dunking on uQuiz today but this quiz is supremely good and everyone should take it

dagny-hashtaggart:

Fuck yeah antinomianism

voxette-vk:

You are Docetism! Docetism (literally, “to seem-ism”) is the belief that Christ only seemed to be human and that his physical body was an illusion. Because he did not possess a physical body, Jesus’s death on the cross could not really have taken place, and his apparent suffering was also illusory. Another variety of docetism held that Jesus was a normal human being but that Christ was an immaterial spirit who entered his body at his baptism, gave him the power to perform supernatural acts, and then abandoned him prior to the crucifixion, perhaps by switching bodies with Simon of Cyrene. Docetist Christology was criticized by a number of early Christian theologians, and was definitively condemned by the Council of Nicaea.

Hell of a quiz…
