I found the thing. You couldn’t have known what it was: I read it maybe a week ago, but it was a year-old post in a kink blog archive I was reading.

I’m thinking I’ll reblog it from the source. I’ve never interacted with the blogger I was reading before, and I don’t think this is how I want to introduce myself.

Hey followers, were any of you the one who reblogged that image with something like “Sex is whatever the people involved find stimulating” on it? (I’m not 100% sure on the phrasing, but that was the gist of it and it definitely involved an inflection of the word “stimulate”.) I remember seeing it…I dunno, maybe a couple weeks ago, and today I was quietly fuming about it, and I thought I’d vent. Thing is, now I can’t find it, and I don’t want to vent about it without being able to point to it.

P.S. I don’t blame you, by the way. The problem is easily missed. (Hell, I was only just fuming about it now.)

Vocal Exercises

[AO3 FFN Fic Tag]

“It’s for a good cause,” Wash said, in a wheedling tone. He’d been standing beside the track watching her run laps for the past ten minutes—their conversation had resumed every time she’d jogged within hearing range.

South dragged her bangs back for a more efficient glare as she passed him. Undeterred, he finally broke into a jog beside her. “Okay,” he said. “Yeah, so. Maybe it’s not for a good cause. Maybe it’s for a bad one. The worst. Nefarious.”

Rolling her eyes, South tamped down the beginnings of a grin. “Let’s say you’re starting to talk my language,” she said. “I need details. I could get in deep shit for this. Director’s been on my ass lately. I’m sure he’s just looking for an excuse to stick me on KP duty again.” She glanced at him, sidelong. “Or in the brig?”

Wash waved his arms. “No, no, nothing that nefarious.”

“See, now you’re losing my attention again,” South said, and lengthened her strides from her warmup jog into a loping, long-distance sprint.

How did you manage to actually finish this? I am DYING over here just from reading it. xDDD Writing it must have been so hard! But thank you so much for this!

Best fluff ever. Of all time!

Everyone read this, please everyone! It’s fucking worth it. xDDD

It was picturing certain things being said in the Director’s voice that absolutely killed me while writing this one.

And thanks! I’m really glad you enjoyed. <3!

– Vulcan, Alberta –

Vulcan is just about an hour south of Calgary  The town was named in 1915 after the roman god of fire, and the original streets were named after various roman deities. Somewhere along the way, somebody in the community made the Star Trek connection, and the local tourism board ran with it, in a big way.

Aside from the Trek themed tourism information building, the street signs are all Trek themed, the county admin building has trek themed signage, there is a Trek museum, and murals depicting Star Trek characters all over town. There is an annual Star Trek convention called Spock Days.

Centaur Babies, A Study

{{previous post in sequence}}

ttacosays:

Magnolia: centaur babies definitely suckle from the human nipples, ps

*laugh*

M: Duh! I laughed and reblogged because of the snarkback.

M: Actually, I half wondered if maybe centaur babies had to feed at both.

>.>

Magnolia: Hrm. Well Now that I think about it… Horse placentation is different from human placentation, and the baby would definitely be in a horse uterus. And a foal needs colostrum to be healthy. Humans don’t. So. IF a centaur HAS horse nipples, the first 24 hours would probably need to be from the horse mammary gland. After that, probably either would work, but for logistical purpose, I’d assume the humans.

Magnolia: Comparative placentation is actually pretty cool. Horses have three more layers between baby and mom’s blood than humans do. The human baby gets direct access to the mother’s blood, including antibodies and etc. A horse does not, and has to eat colostrum within 12-24 hours of birth in order to get those antibodies. Of course, centaurs probably don’t even need antibodies. They’re probably magically immune.

Magnolia: I CAN KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS WHILE YOU PEOPLE DO THIS WORK THING YOU’RE DOING

Magnolia: *rewrites Misty of Chincoteague, but with centaurs*

*draws “Anatomy of the Centaur” book*

And then there’s the whole thing about how their digestive system is completely different from ours.

M: *laughing so hard* I looked away like 12 minutes? And you invented a new genre
