Hi, Internet. Alton Brown here. I just wanted to let everybody know that I’m gonna be taking a little break from the show Cutthroat Kitchen in order to concentrate my efforts on a new Internet venture I have. I call it “a cooking show”, and I think you’re gonna like it.

Why am I telling you from inside an appliance? *grins, takes on an up-to-something tone* No reason.

It’s on Dreamwidth because I don’t trust Tumblr to handle a two-hour episode transcript when I get there, and also I understand Dreamwidth more. I’m going to try to link each episode here as I finish it, though.

Anybody wants to volunteer to help transcribe episodes, just let me know and I’ll give you posting access on Dreamwidth. I’mma be playing catch-up for a while here by my lonesome… XD

Pros of writing transcripts: Holy crap, look at all these details I never would’ve noticed otherwise! Whoa, I feel 1000% more confident with these character voices! Hey, there’s a fantastic idea for an fic/meta post/audio post! Boy, I sure do love typing things… that’s probably weird isn’t it. Haha. Yeah.

Cons of writing transcripts: Trying to decipher Caboose’s dialogue.

ada-adorable asked: Do you listen to night Vale? If so, what do you think of Hiram McDaniels? If not, well, you should listen to night Vale but don’t feel compelled to pass judgment on the character without listening to the show in general. I mean, unless you want to.

Actually, I have NEVER listened to Night Vale, and I likely never will on account of pure audio is one of the HARDEST ways for me to process information. (Seriously, I can read books that’d make your eyes bleed, but have me listen to a podcast and I climb walls.  I don’t know how audiophiles even cope with life.)

So sadly, I know absolutely nothing about this character.  Feel free to give me your quick sketch, if you like; you can’t really spoil me on this front.  If that’s not your cuppa, perhaps one of my friendly readers will add their opinion!

Cecil Speaks! Cecil Speaks is awesome. They even have translations of the occasional Russian and Morse code.

(I do have enough audio-processing ability to listen to Night Vale, but only just, so I know that feeling.)
