The whole black-woman-in-Shakespearean-England thing is, as I recall, the second thing *she* asks about after “So, we’re not going to accidentally destroy my timeline, right?”. I love how she asks sensible questions like that.

OH! DOES she mention that? I missed it. (I DID catch the bit about the butterflies though. XD)

Martha: “Am I all right? I’m not going to get carted off as a slave, am I?”

Doctor: “Why would they do that?”

Martha: “Not exactly white, in case you hadn’t noticed.”

Doctor: “I’m not even human. Just walk around like you own the place. Always works for me.”

(P.S. The comparison isn’t that good, though. The Doctor isn’t human, but he can pass for it pretty easily. Martha not so much.)
