I just realized that the episode where they pilot a Jem’Hadar ship

the ship that doesn’t have any chairs on it

is called “A Time to Stand”

that is officially the best and worst pun of all time oh my god

bajor petitioning starfleet for copies of sisko’s personal logs bc he’s their emissary and since hq’s always been really nervous about that they just say that since he’s only been gone a week a lot of the information in there is still sensitive, so no.

fast forward like a century and someone finds this old file full of requests from bajor for some officer’s personal logs, so whatever, they send it over. cut to bajor basically flipping their shit bc while they’ve had tons of primary sources from everyone who met the emissary, talked to him, was friends with him, they didn’t have much in his own voice bc most everything he had to say went in his starfleet logs.it’s all anyone can talk about for months, some people don’t even go to work on the day it comes out bc they’re marathoning through, temples have an unexpected off day.

meanwhile the clerk who sent it out has their superior officer standing over them glaring intently. ‘how was i supposed to know it was That sisko? everyone just says the emissary!’

Staring at Star Trek maps TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE FUCK EVERYTHING IS

(from this blog )

If you flip the Cardassian symbol on its side, it actually kinda looks like the shape of the Cardassian union!

While not perfect, this book (“Star Trek: Star Charts”) is just so full of yummy awesomeness in a fanboy way.  Cause finally, you could make more sense of the Trek universe than ever before.  Even if some choices didn’t make any sense or something contradicted itself.  The maps have since been adopted by pretty much anyone/everyone when needed.

I even re-created this one with some heavy modifications for a never-got-off-the-ground PBEM RPG I was going to do.

Star Trek Online used these as a source, I think. Well, until they went to the Delta Quadrant and decided to compress 7 years and 70,000 light years into 2 sector grids of 3 sectors each… :S

It’s nice knowing where stuff is though.  It gives it… dimension?

We have a Tumblr now!

{{previous post in sequence}}

ds9rewatch:

This is the Tumblr mirror (not the goatee’d or pleather’d kind) of the ds9-rewatch Livejournal community. You might have seen our post last month. If not, here’s the basics: each week, we gather in our chatroom to watch an episode of DS9 together. It’s all the fun of hanging out watching TV with your friends, but with more typing and less having to be on the same continent as each other.

We hold three rewatches each week (schedule here), so if you miss one you still have a chance to join in for that episode. The next rewatch time coming up is the third one for “Emissary”, so if you act fast you can still get in at the very beginning of this cycle! (If you do miss this one, don’t let that stop you from joining in later. I didn’t learn about DS9 Rewatch until the first cycle’s “Duet”, and I did fine.)

As I mentioned above, this blog is going to mirror the LJ, so that those of you who check your dashboard a lot more often than your friends page can still keep an eye on what’s going on with us. Reminder posts, links to discussion posts (please leave your discussion comments on the LJ post, not on Tumblr), and notices of special extra rewatches are just some of the things you’ll be able to find here!

Please spread the word about our community! The more people who join in, the livelier our conversations will be!
