what if you’re giving birth to twins and it’s the end of daylights savings day and the older twin was born first but the second twin travels back in time and is born an hour before the first twin, would that be fucked up or what.

This is like one of those riddle-of-the-Sphinx loopholes, like “I can only be defeated by a younger brother who is first born of his family” and this clown rolls up like “BUDDY, HAVE I GOT A STORY FOR YOU…”

This is what happens when you’re still on tumblr as an adult, you start reblogging shit like this

Yuletide signups close Monday, October 14, 2013.

We were just going to post a plain countdown to the end of sign-ups, but this was too awesome not to share. :)

48 hours till sign-ups close! (Mon 14th, 6pm EDT)

And just in case anyone on my Tumblr hadn’t noticed already: Yuletide sign-ups close at 6pm U.S. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, October 14 (about 36.75 hours after I’m reblogging this).

(The reblogged YuletideTreasure post says EDT or Eastern Daylight Time, our equivalent to British Summer Time. This is a typo. We are not currently on Daylight Time in the US.)

If you want to request fanfic for at least four different small fandoms (of which you are guaranteed to receive a 1000+ word fic for one fandom) and offer to write a 1000+ word fic in a randomly selected one of at least five small fandoms, all fandoms to be chosen from the tag set here… go for it! You have 36-ish hours to sign up, and must have your fic written and uploaded to AO3 by December 22.

(If you don’t have an AO3 account and want to sign up in order to participate in Yuletide, tell the mods. They will expedite your account request.)

If you just want to write fic of any length to a Christmas deadline in these small fandoms, but would rather pick out individual prompts that inspire you — go here! You can browse the comments directly or look through the spreadsheet linked at the bottom of the post which shows requests sorted by fandom. There’s no strict deadline to this part of writing for Yuletide. :D

And if you just want to read fic in any of these small fandoms — well, wait till gifts are revealed sometime on December 25, and revel in the awesome! ;-)

»This is a typo. We are not currently on Daylight Time in the US.«

But…it’s October. North American Daylight Savings doesn’t end until 2 AM the first Sunday of November. (And even Europe isn’t until the last Sunday of October.)

…I’m wrong? Okay, ONE of them is a typo, because another official Yuletide place said “EST” and I saw that one first… bleh. It’s too dark out to still be Daylight Savings TIme.

*wants the world to stop being confusing now plskthx*

Daylight Savings tonight (for U.S. and Canada)!

Yeah, I know I’m not Supposed to be happy about it, but sunlight! A whole hour of it! Every day!

(I never wake up before dawn anyway, so this does actually add sunlight to my day rather than moving it around)

Equinoctes are all well and good, but this is the beginning of spring as I see it.

(*looks at snow falling outside* Not that everything gets the memo right away, but I do get springtime levels of daylight!)

#reusing last year’s post because it’s still accurate #(at the time that I first attempted to reblog this it was even snowing) #(but my computer was running very slowly and I had to leave for work so I ended up not having time) #(not snowing anymore) #Daylight Savings Time #PSA

While I do *have* an internal time sense, said sense tends to believe external cues over its own lying eyes.

The upside is, when springing forward I’ve usually adjusted by the end of the first day, and almost always by the end of the second. All I have to do is look at clocks a lot and follow my routine at least somewhat aggressively.

The downside is, every year at falling back I try to shift my sleep schedule back with it, and it never works.

Hi Everyone!

kolzumi:

I just want to remind everyone in the US (excluding Arizona) that Daylight Savings Time begins tomorrow (March 8th, 2015) at 2:00 am.

That means that tomorrow morning, some automatic clocks (especially satellite-operated ones) will go from 1:59 am to 3:00 am. If you are awake during that time and see that change, do not worry! You did not lose time!

Try to remember to change your clocks tonight so that you’re on track for tomorrow if possible!

I’d really appreciate it if this gets reblogged so nobody panics due to the time change tomorrow. Thank you!

(Note: the above information also applies to Canada, except for Saskatchewan, which is already on DST because it is always on DST. Europe’s change is three weeks from now. I figured that if I was talking about the U.S. and Canada, I ought to include Mexico, but Wikipedia informs me that Mexico’s relationship with DST is too complicated to fit in this parenthetical.)

That faint sound you hear in the distance (or, if you are justice-turtle, the fairly loud sound nearby) is the sound of Arizonans laughing.

No matter. I will be eating dinner by sunlight tomorrow, and that is the important thing.
